There are many different factors that are relevant in machine vision, depending on the specific application: for example, some require data transmission to be as fast as possible, while others focus on identifying "invisible" details. The solutions offered by IDS are versatile enough for these challenges.

In contrast, the IMX250 MZR-C polarization sensor from Sony provides outstanding insights. Its main strengths lies in object detection with low contrast or reflective light. It also helps visualizing scratches on surfaces or the distribution of stress within transparent objects that remain hidden from other image sensors. At the fair, we are presenting a uEye CP concept study with GigE Vision interface.

USB 3.1 Gen 1 uEye LE cameras with active focus and liquid lensens

If the camera lens in an application is difficult to reach manually, (re-)focussing becomes a challenge. This is where our uEye LE "Active Focus" board level cameras with USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface and liquid lens control can help. With these models, the focus can be quickly and easily readjusted via a software-based user interface or API. At VISION, they will be presented with sensors from different manufacturers and resolution classes. A firmware update with a contrast based autofocus is also planned for Q1/2019.

At VISION we will also be presenting the uEye FX, a concept study of a 10 GigE camera family that could optimally make use of the potential of current sensors in terms of high resolution, fast frame rates and large bit depths. Depending on the available bandwidth and infrastructure, it automatically adapts its transmission speed to 5, 2.5 or 1 GigE. We are also planning to integrate Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), which means that a separate cable for the power supply is no longer required. We look forward to your feedback!
