Intelligent robot with uEye+ industrial camera reduces herbicide use
Plant protection products are an integral part of today's agriculture, but besides having the desired effect, they also pose numerous risks to humans and the environment. The Rowesys student project at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich has set itself the goal of developing a robot for more sustainable agriculture without the excessive use of herbicides. On the underside of the robot a uEye+ industrial camera with GigE Vision Interface from IDS is attached.
In this interview with Timo Schönegg (ETH), we take a closer look at the resource-saving application and also glance into the future. How is "Rosie" developing further and what added value can the integrated technology already offer agriculture?
