Thanks to its unique event-based imaging, the 1/2.5" Sony Prophesee IMX636 sensor of the uEye XCP-E only captures only the changes in the image that are relevant to you. In contrast to industrial cameras with image-based sensors that transmit complete megapixel images, the event-based camera recognizes changes in brightness at each individual sensor pixel (1280 x 720 px). Pixel position and time stamp are then transmitted asynchronously as one event via USB3 interface (SuperSpeed USB, 5 Gpbs) to the host PC.
The software integration of the uEye XCP-E is done using the Metavision SDK from Prophesee. The IDS HAL plugin ensures a seamless usage of the IDS camera with the sensor manufacturer's development tools.
The small and lightweight uEye XCP-E camera offers event-based sensor technology in a robust housing (29 × 29 × 17 mm) with lockable USB-Micro-B connector and is compatible with all common C-mount lens sizes. This makes it ideal for both industrial and non-industrial applications.
