The intelligent industrial camera IDS NXT malibu enables 4K streaming at full sensor resolution of 3856 x 2176 px px in perfect image quality - and much more. It performs image analyses independently and delivers the results as live overlays in compressed video streams via RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol). In addition, users can display the live camera image in any web browser via HTTP stream (MJPEG-compressed).

The camera is equipped with the 8.39 MPix Rolling Shutter sensor IMX678. It belongs to Sony's Starvis 2 series and ensures brilliant image quality with a high dynamic range. This is particularly evident when used in low ambient light.

Inside there is also a special SoC from Ambarella, which is known from action cameras. An ISP with helpful automatic features, such as for brightness, noise and color correction, helps to achieve optimum image quality at all times.

The model is part of the IDS NXT ecosystem and is designed as a versatile embedded vision platform. Thanks to the combination of perfect image quality + on-camera AI + compression + video streaming, it can be operated completely independently of a PC.

Like the IDS NXT rio and rome models, IDS NXT malibu has a compact, industrial-grade housing with GigE interface and offers a REST API.

Biotechnology and life sciences

Image processing can be used, for example, to analyze living organisms and biological processes - from swarm behaviour to cell division.

Object tracking

Whether in sports, on the production line or in research projects - IDS cameras keep a close eye on objects.

Process control

Cameras check the material supply in the process and are used e.g. for the intermediate and final inspection of products.

Sports and motion analysis

Image data can be used for match analyses or to optimize motion patterns, such as golf swings or cycling.

Imaging systems can be found e.g. in self-checkout systems and reverse vending machines and provide support for shelf inspection.

Recognize details more accurately - for example, by displaying close-up images on monitors.
