HDR has long been an essential tool in many machine vision applications. Today, it is less the availability of the technology but using it efficiently. Comprehensive HDR support in IDS peak significantly simplifies the evaluation of HDR-capable cameras. Users can visualize, compare, analyze and save HDR results directly, without the need to first develop their own tools or applications.
On the camera side, multiple HDR methods are available to address different requirements for dynamic range, resolution and motion, including Clear HDR, Quad HDR, and Sequence HDR. Image capture, HDR merging, and tone mapping are already integrated. In addition, source code samples make it easier to get started with the processing and further use of HDR image data. The result is a consistent workflow, from selecting the right camera through to evaluation and integration into the application.
