In our new application report, we show how preML simplifies automated quality control in production with a modular, AI-supported inspection system. At the heart of the system is the IDS uEye XC industrial camera with autofocus. It ensures consistent sharpness and reliable defect detection, even when component heights, distances, or surfaces vary.
As a no-code solution, inspection models can be trained directly on the device without the need for expertise in image processing or AI. preML’s modular plug-and-play approach combines a camera, lighting, edge computing, and software into a fully pre-configured system. A practical example from electronics manufacturing demonstrates how well this works in everyday use, where manually assembled printed circuit boards undergo an automatic 100% inspection.
As the task grows, the system scales up accordingly. Depending on requirements, up to four uEye XC cameras can be integrated per system.
