TechTalk with IDS: "Successful Bin Picking with 3D Vision Systems"
Object detection made easy with Ensenso 3D cameras and "PartFinder"
"Bin Picking" or gripping chaotic parts from boxes is still one of the most difficult tasks in robotics. At the free inVISION TechTalk (online) on June 20, 3 experts from 3 companies will address the question of how 3D machine vision systems support this part handling by enabling more flexible workflows.
IDS will present the advantages of the new Ensenso C product line in combination with the 3D matching algorithm "PartFinder", where objects are detected and output either via CAD models or simple shapes in the 3D point cloud.
Tightly coupled with Ensenso-specific camera parameters, Ensenso PartFinder offers many advantages over other available 3D matching algorithms.
In addition, the inclusion of 2D, 3D and texture data ensures highly accurate and performant matching, even with difficult surfaces and incomplete point clouds, as always prevail in bin picking due to superimposed parts and difficult lighting conditions.
If you would like to learn more about THE challenge "Bin Picking" in robotics and solutions through 3D camera technology, then register for the free online TechTalk. We look forward to your questions.
