IDS is the first industrial camera manufacturer with IMX662 in color and mono!
Ultra-sensitive, impressively cost-effective: uEye+ XCP cameras with Starvis 2 sensor from Sony
Sensors from Sony's Starvis 2 series are designed for maximum light sensitivity - and we are the first industrial camera manufacturer to offer the 2 MP sensor IMX662 in both color and mono. This December, we will be launching the new rolling shutter sensor in combination with our compact uEye+ XCP models.
The cameras expand the possibilities for applications, particularly in the low-light range. In addition to the special, highly sensitive pixel technology, customers with high demands on image quality benefit from an additional feature, as Jürgen Hejna, Product Manager uEye at IDS, explains: "At IDS, we offer this sensor with Anti Reflection Coating. This means that disruptive reflections - known as lens flare - are reduced or completely avoided within the camera."
The integration into the uEye+ XCP models is just the beginning: uEye+ XLS board-level cameras with the same sensor will follow in spring. Jürgen Hejna summarizes: "With the uEye+ XCP, customers get an ingenious camera for 200 US Dollars and less. We are also planning to make the entire range of Sony Starvis 2 sensors in our portfolio available in different camera families - and thereby offer the greatest possible flexibility in the selection of these light-sensitive sensors."
