GigE and USB3 Vision Firmware 2.8 with Events and Binning in FPGA
Vision Firmware 2.8 available for download for uEye+ cameras
The new firmware version 2.8 is now available for your Vision Standard-based uEye+ cameras. It brings numerous innovations such as special events for cameras with Sony sensors (including Exposure Start/End, Frame Dropped, Missed Trigger, Error), long exposure for USB3 cameras and a synchronous freerun mode for cameras with GigE interface.
Events are notifications sent by the camera to the host application when a predefined event has occurred. This means they provide information about status changes and can be used to synchronize the host application with events on the camera. To use events, IDS peak 1.2 or higher is required. The new Signal Multiplier enables a synchronized freerun, i.e. image acquisition synchronized with the PTP control at an adjustable frame rate.
Also new is FPGA binning, which is available for all uEye+ cameras (except the uEye XLE family). The function helps to improve the signal-to-noise ratio and to reduce the data rate. For a detailed description of the new features, see the latest IDS Vision reference on our website. For information on which camera supports which features, please see the list of available functions for GigE Vision cameras and USB3 Vision cameras.
