IDS peak Release 2.5: Message queue, extended auto features and more
Software Development Kit IDS peak with new features and improved performance
With the IDS peak 2.5 software release you will benefit from many new functions to use with our uEye/uEye+ industrial cameras. One highlight is the new message queue under IDS peak comfortC, which can be used to call up notifications for specific camera events as required. This allows you to react in a specific way - for example, when focusing or exposure is completed and you want to manually trigger follow-up processes. We offer a source code sample to illustrate the new function.
With the release of IDS peak 2.4, we already implemented automatic, optimal focusing for certain IDS cameras via IDS peak AFL. The current software release now extends the possibilities with auto white balance and auto brightness. We make these convenient auto functions available under the IDS peak comfortC interface as well as under Python and C++ / C#.
Furthermore, there are now new I2C functions especially for the IDS peak comfortSDK (requires firmware 3.20 or higher). I2C makes it possible to control external devices via the cameras (write I2C bus) or - via a query of the interface - to trigger actions in the host (read I2C bus). This is useful, for example, in device and circuit development. Under IDS peak comfortC, I2C is now easy to find and use; in addition, there is now a new dialogue in the IDS peak Cockpit for simplified reading.
Additionally, the release enables performance optimization in the IDS peak Cockpit and the IDS peak IPL (e.g. image rotation, histogram). Please refer to the Release Notes for more detailed information.
