Important note on use of the Bt878 chip The currently used Bt878-Chip possesses contrary to the Bt848-Chip beside the video device also an audio device, which however is not used by FALCON/EAGLE. However it is recognized with plug and play operating systems and must be also installed for unrestricted executability. |

Important note on use of the Bt878 Chip and the use of monochrome cameras With the new FALCON/EAGLE boards the Bt878 chip is used, which shows an easily changed behaviour in connection with monochrome cameras. If a monochrome camera is operated in a color collection modes (RGB15, RGB16, RGB24 or RGB32), then color fringings arise at object edges, which are caused by a increased amplification in the color acquisition block. This effect can be suppressed, if the color saturation for the U and V channel is set to 0 (API function is_SetSaturation()). In the Y8 collection mode does this effect not arise. Using the operating systems Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, or Windows 10 the automatic update service for drivers (HW) may not be activated, because otherwise any Bt878 driver is installed. |
