Important note on use of the Bt878 chip

The currently used Bt878-Chip possesses contrary to the Bt848-Chip beside the video device also an audio device, which however is not used by FALCON/EAGLE. However it is recognized with plug and play operating systems and must be also installed for unrestricted executability.

Important note on use of the Bt878 Chip and the use of monochrome cameras

With the new FALCON/EAGLE boards the Bt878 chip is used, which shows  an easily changed behaviour in connection with monochrome cameras. If a monochrome camera is operated in a color collection modes (RGB15, RGB16, RGB24 or RGB32), then color fringings arise at object edges, which are caused by a increased amplification in the color acquisition block. This effect can be suppressed, if the color saturation for the U and V channel is set to 0 (API function is_SetSaturation()). In the Y8 collection mode does this effect not arise.

Using the operating systems Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, or Windows 10 the automatic update service for drivers (HW) may not be activated, because otherwise any Bt878 driver is installed.
