hint_info

Note that the cards OPTO I und OPTO II are no longer available.

In addition to the FALCON, it is possible to purchase a board which directs the TTL-compatible inputs and outputs of the FALCON via an optocoupler and allows signal levels up to 24 V.

The inputs of the optocoupler board are able to switch voltages of 5 to 24 V. The outputs are able to switch a connected consumer against ground. All outputs can be loaded with a max. current of 50 mA. The outputs are protected by reversible fuses. All inputs are short circuit proof.

When connecting inductive consumers we recommend to use appropriate protective circuits. The optocoupler board does not need an available slot within the PC. It is however recommended to accommodate these in an available slot cover.

Pin assignments of J8 and J9 are described in the appendix (see Optocoupler board). The optocoupler board can be connected with FALCON via a flat ribbon cable. Socket J8 of the optocoupler board is connected to socket J5 of FALCON.

The newer version of the optocoupler board has the possibility to attach up to 16 trigger inputs (older version: 8). Connection to the FALCON is made likewise by the plug J8 by means of a flat ribbon cable to the plug J5 of the FALCON.

hint_info

In case of use of the new optocoupler board it is to be noted that during connection to a FALCON only 8 trigger inputs can be used.
