Important note on mainboard chip sets

Scroll Previous Top Next More

During operation of a FALCON/EAGLE board the data of the EEPROM can be destroyed in systems with certain chips. Often the effect of a destroyed EEPROM data is that the driver finds an invalid serial number and running the board is rejected with error code 14. The data destruction can be explained by an incompatibility of the chip sets to the existing PCI specifications. Problems however are limited on certain computer systems. Read the ReadMe.txt file on the installation CD for a current list of the affected systems. A new programming of the EEPROM can only be done by IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH on your own costs!

There is a workaround to avoid data destruction. This workaround must be considered in customer application:

Workaround

Calling up one of the API functions, which read or write on the EEPROM. Live sequence image acquisition must be turned off with function is_StopLiveVideo() and/or acquisition of one single image must be completed with function is_FreezeVideo()!

The affected functions are:

is_GetBoardInfo()

is_ReadEEPROM()

is_WriteEEPROM()
